The most significant change made to the iPhone 4 is the exterior look to it. The outside casing of the iPhone 3G was just like the iPod touch, but on the iPhone 4, the casing is uninsulated stainless steel, which acts as the phone’s antenna and as the primary structure for the device itself. The stainless steel casing also has 3 slits that divide the band into 3 sections. The left section is the Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi antenna, the other 2 sections act as the UTMS and GMS antenna. It also has the Apple A4 processor and 512MB of eDRAM, which is double what the iPhone 3GS had and 4 times more than the original. The new phone is also 24% thinner than the 3GS, and Jobs claims that it is the thinnest smartphone on the planet.

The phone features a camera on the front and a 5 megapixel camera on the back. The camera on the back also records video in 720p at 30 frames per second. Steve Jobs stated that the iPhone 4 has a Quad-Band, yet it really has a Penta-Band and it has a 3-axis accelerometer which makes it easier to text, send e-mails and go web surfing.
